PS deputies will have a scheduled day to receive voters from their district

“They will dedicate at least one Monday a month – taking into account that this is the day on which parliamentarians do their field work – to personal contact with voters in the districts from which they were elected”

PS deputies will now make themselves available at least one day a month to receive and listen to citizens from their district, in an initiative that aims to “strengthen the relationship between elected officials and voters”.

According to an official source from the socialist parliamentary group, PS deputies “will start dedicating at least one Monday a month – taking into account that this is the day on which the ground work is done by parliamentarians – to personal contact with the voters of the districts from which they were elected, thus making themselves available to receive all interested citizens”.

“At the basis of this initiative is the idea that populations should know the deputies who represent them, strengthening the relationship between elected officials and voters”, said the same source.

The PS parliamentary group will also organize this proximity work, dedicating each month to a theme, which can range from Education, Health to Civil Protection, among others.

“These initiatives begin in September and will allow for the collection of relevant information that will serve as a basis for the work of the parliamentary group. The objective is to take a decentralized approach to the territory, because there are problems and challenges that are common, but there are others that are specific to each region”, maintained the socialists.

The first themes will be defined before the summer, according to the same source, in conjunction with the regional coordinators of each district.
