A person died today after being caught by a train in Quelfes, in the municipality of Olhão, leading to the interruption of railway traffic on the Algarve line, a source from the Civil Protection of Olhão told Lusa news agency. Faro.

The alert was given at 8:05 am, with 12 operators supported by six vehicles arriving at the scene of the accident.

The source of the District Relief Operations Command of Faro said that it was “a railway accident, which resulted in one person being killed”, without providing further details.

According to the same source, railway traffic is interrupted on the Algarve Line, in the Olhão area, towards Vila Real de Santo António/Faro, and there is no forecast of when it will reopen.
