Members of the governing bodies of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA) and the president of the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL) met this week to discuss several important points for this sector.

The Algarve's water plan, the sustainability of the destination and the need for permanent requalification, urban planning, tourist taxes and the construction of social housing for employees of hotel companies were some of the topics covered.

«After extensive discussion of each topic, and given common points of view, forms of joint action were defined, with a view to obtaining concrete results in the near future», states AHETA, which is fully available to collaborate with AMAL in the pursuit of its objectives.

The objective is for the Algarve to have «greater competitiveness, both nationally and internationally».
