54 families from Olhão are about to receive keys to new homes at controlled costs

This “will be a happy moment”

The first 54 families from Olhão will soon receive the keys to their new homes at controlled costs, the Olhão City Council announced this Monday, June 17th.

During a visit to Rua António Henrique Cabrita, where the first phase of the project was built, António Miguel Pina, mayor of Olhão, who was accompanied by the councilor for Public Works, Ricardo Calé, considered that «it will be a happy moment for these families, who are eagerly awaiting their new homes, as well as the entire Olhão community».

The mayor added that «this is one of the works we are most proud of: the construction of 54 homes at controlled costs, a project worth around 6 million euros, which will allow several families in our municipality to finally have the your home, at truly affordable prices, between 110.000 and 125.000 euros. These are prices that do not strangle the family economy».

The construction of housing at controlled costs in the municipality is one of the aspects of the Municipality's housing policy, one of the pillars of this mandate.

This is followed by the construction of the second phase of housing at controlled costs, which will create another 300 homes on the land of the former Litografia, and the requalification of the 16 de Junho neighborhood, where 64 new homes will be built, to relocate some of the residents who live in less dignified situation.
