UAlg organized the VII Meeting of Psychologists from Southern Guidance Services

The event had as guest Vítor Alexandre Coelho, professor at the Institute of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the Lusíada University of Porto

The Meeting of Psychologists from the Southern Guidance Services (EPSOS) took place this Wednesday, May 22nd, at the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve (UAlg), in Faro.

The opening session was attended by Paulo Águas, rector of UAlg, Vítor Gamboa, coordinator of the Educational Psychology, Development and Career Counseling Unit of the UAlg Psychology Service, and Carla Pita Fernandes, member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Delegation of the South of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists.

EPSOS had as a guest Vítor Alexandre Coelho, professor at the Institute of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Universidade Lusíada do Porto, who addressed the topic “Socio-emotional skills in adjusting to learning contexts”.

Also during the morning, Luís Sérgio Vieira, Olímpio Paixão and Beatriz Marcelo, from UAlg, presented the session “Evidence of the effectiveness of intervention in socio-emotional development”.

After lunch, a round table entitled “Challenges in access to higher education for 2025/26” took place, with the speakers André Botelheiro and Márcia André, from the Communication and Protocol Office, Ana Conceição, pro-rector of UAlg, Isabel Simões , director of Academic Services, and where we will talk about the new rules of the National Access Competition and its candidates,

The initiative ended with interventions by Luís Janeiro, director of the Psychology Service at UAlg, and Eduardo Esteves, vice-rector for Pedagogical Innovation and Student Support.
