The inauguration of the new route between Faro and Ponta Delgada, Vamos à Vila, in Monchique, and the Vilamoura Boat Show are some of the “marking” events that Turismo do Algarve will highlight, in June, as part of its promotional strategy for the region.

Algarve Tourism chose two very different proposals, which represent «the multiple aspects of the destination between the Atlantic and the mountains». «Events like Vamos à Vila are essential to keep tradition alive and promote the authenticity of the Algarve”, while “participating in the Boat Show is an effective way of presenting the Algarve as a multifaceted and attractive destination for different types of tourists, taking advantage of the fantastic gateway that is Vilamoura Marina”, says André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve.

In the case of “vamos à Vila”, which this year will take place on the 31st of May and the 1st and 2nd of June, in Monchique, this is an event that “celebrates local traditions, inviting visitors to share the knowledge and flavors Of region. The Algarve Tourism space will offer information about the region and promotional material focused on nature tourism, cultural heritage and bird watching, among others», according to Algarve Tourism.

The Vilamoura Boat Show, which will take place from the 8th to the 16th of June, at the Vilamoura Marina, «brings together a wide range of boats, equipment and services linked to nautical activities. Algarve Tourism will take advantage of this opportunity to promote its nautical offer, but also other Algarve tourist products, such as culture, gastronomy and nature. During the event, information and tourist promotion materials will be available in the Algarve Tourism space, such as brochures, gifts and promotional videos, highlighting the diversity and richness of the Algarve beyond the sun and sea».

André Gomes also highlights the inaugural flight between Faro and Ponta Delgada, a new route that «not only reinforces the Algarve's connectivity with the Azores, but also opens up new opportunities for North American tourists visiting that region to continue exploring the country through the Algarve».
