A man and a woman, both aged 31, were arrested on the 27th of May for drug trafficking, in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, with the man being held in preventive detention.
The arrests take place as part of an investigation, which had been ongoing for around seven months, and which culminated in the execution of three home search warrants, in Vila Real de Santo António.
During the investigation, it was possible to determine that the suspects were selling drugs in the municipalities of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.
Following the investigations carried out, the GNR seized 802 doses of hashish, 165 doses of cocaine, two firearms, a vehicle, three mobile phones, 2 euros in cash and various drug cutting and packaging materials.
The suspects were arrested and presented at the Judicial Court of Faro, with the coercive measure of preventive detention being applied to the man, with the woman being subject to presentations three times a week, at the police station in her area of residence, a ban on contacting witnesses and a ban on visiting places associated with drug trafficking .
The action was reinforced by military personnel from the Criminal Investigation Units of Faro, Loulé and Albufeira, from the Tavira Territorial Detachment and the Intervention Detachment (DI) from Faro.
