Mini-company from Escola Profissional de Alte wins regional phase of the JAP Company Program

Young people will represent the region in Porto

The Mini-company “Boarking”, from the Cândido Guerreiro Professional School, in Alte, won the regional phase of the JAP Company Program. 

Guilherme Projecto, Marco Moita, Miguel de Souza and Rodrigo Felicidade are the 2nd year students of the Professional Commercial Technician Course at Escola Profissional Cândido Guerreiro who make up the team responsible for this project, a restaurant located in Queda do Vigário, in which it aims to transform the boar plague into a delicacy good gourmet food, offering gastronomic experiences through the preparation of wild boar meat.

After being selected on May 2nd from among the seven Mini-Enterprises that, before 11 jurors, presented a pitch on stage and exhibited in stand projects developed, on the 29th of May the Minicompany “Boarking” will represent the Algarve region in the XVII National Competition of the “A Empresa” Program, by Junior Achievement Portugal (JAP), which will take place at the Super Bock Arena- Rosa Mota Pavilion, in Porto.

On that day, 130 secondary school students will present their business ideas in pitch and in an exhibition format with a prototype and defending them in interviews conducted by a panel of fifteen judges representing JAP's associates and partners.

Your Mini-Companies will compete for the national title and the opportunity to represent Portugal at Gen-E 2024, the largest entrepreneurship festival in Europe that this year will take place in Catania, Italy, from the 2nd to the 4th of July, and which will host, among several events , the European final of this program, bringing together more than 800 young entrepreneurs.

«The Company is Junior Achievement's flagship program through which secondary school students create a mini-company with the help of a volunteer and a teacher. Students do brainstorming looking for an innovative idea to respond to an identified problem or need, they develop the product or service and present a business plan for their mini-company.
