Lagos celebrates Children's Day with giant traditional games, puppets and inflatables

There is a lot to choose from

Giant traditional games, inflatables, puppets, circus arts and much more. Lagos has prepared a series of activities, over the next few weeks, to celebrate the International Days of Children and Play, as well as World Bicycle Day.

Over the last few weeks, pre-school and primary schools in the municipality have been developing activities for the little ones, such as giant traditional games and “Pop-Up Aventura” (use of different materials to create games and games).

From the 3rd to the 7th of June, as part of the “Pé no Pedal” project, Bicycle Games will be promoted among students. On June 11th, between 14:30 pm and 15:30 pm, “Hora do Brincar” will take place between public and private schools.

To celebrate International Children's Day, the weekend of June 1st and 2nd will be full of activities for families.

On the 1st, the Constitution Garden will be filled with color and magic with inflatables and circus arts (16pm to 00pm), with 21pm reserved for the traveling show “A Viagem”, by the Mãozorra Teatro de Marionetas, in Praça do Infante.

Organized by the Parish Council of São Gonçalo, the entertainment on the 2nd of June will be concentrated in the Anel Verde Park, with inflatables and children's entertainment.

On the 8th, also taking advantage of World Bicycle Day and the municipal project “Pé no Pedal” that promotes the sport among the little ones, the 4th Algarve Inter-School Cycling Meeting will take place, a co-organization between the Cycling Association of the Algarve and the municipality.

The initiative will take place in the car park of Escola EB 2,3 das Naus, between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm, and will be open to young federated athletes and non-practicing Lacobrigens children and young people (if you don't have a bike, you can call the Sports Service CM Lagos on 282 741 700).

The activities will be developed with the support of local clubs (Ciclo Clube de Lagos on the Cycling – Road side and Grupo Popular das Portelas on the mountain biking side), with didactic games for children between 5 and 8 years old and tours around the Meia Praia area to young people between 9 and 14 years old (Route for All, Youth and Children's MTB Routes and Road Route).

Parents, teachers and educators are not forgotten in these activities and they too can play again. The “POP-UP Workshop” will take place on June 11th, at 18:30 pm, at the Centro Cultural de Lagos, being part of the “Vaga Project” of the municipality’s educational service.

The idea is to promote among the adult public the importance of free interaction with loose pieces in the environment and the creation of play and symbolic play scenarios, encouraging greater interaction with children in artistic creation.
