Government approves IRS Youth with maximum rate of up to 15% for higher incomes

The measure was one of those approved today by the Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers today approved the new IRS Jovem regime, which includes the payment of one third of the tax rate up to a maximum of 15% for all income from work for people up to 35 years of age.

The measure was presented by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, at the end of a Council of Ministers held in Braga and dedicated to youth.

“We approved a bill that will be sent to the Assembly of the Republic in which we give concrete form to a solemnly assumed commitment to apply a maximum rate of 15% of IRS, which translates into a third of the rate compared to the rate that is now in effect. vigor”, said Luís Montenegro.

As is the case with the IRS Youth regime currently in force, the rules approved today cover income from work in categories A (employment) and B (self-employed).
