Faro celebrates Children's Day at Jardim da Alameda

Activities will take place from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm

Faro will mark, on May 29th, Children's Day with the launch of a children's book, a futsal tournament, inflatables, a silence party, in Jardim da Alameda. 

The activities will take place from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm, in Jardim da Alameda, bringing together around 2 thousand participants, including children from school establishments (EB1) in the municipality and their companions and entities involved.

One of the highlights is the launch of the Farrobinhas' new adventure, entitled “Bio Waste, the New Challenge”, which FAGAR and the Municipal Council of Faro edit.

Several entities will be present at the event, with proposals for very diverse recreational-pedagogical activities, such as Escola Profissional D. Francisco Gomes D'Avelar – Santa Casa da Misericórdia and CCDR Algarve IP

The various forces linked to security and civil protection, such as the Fire Department of Faro – Cruz Lusa, the Firefighters Company of Faro, INEM, the Municipal Civil Protection Service, the Maritime Authority – Maritime Police, the GNR and the PSP, which will also make a presentation by a kinesthetic team, will be present, collaborating in raising awareness of issues related to well-being and fitness to act in dangerous situations.

Health awareness and education actions will also take place throughout the morning, namely through initiatives carried out by the Educational Service of the Municipal Library (with the activity “From the University to the Community – Playing also Learns” - “Basic Health Support Vida” and NEMed-AAUAlg, which will set up the “Hospital dos Pequenitos”. Faro will be present with several actions.

Concern for the environment will be addressed by the Centro de Ciência Viva do Algarve (which will carry out scientific activities, entitled “The future of Heritage in the Light of Science”), by the Ria Formosa Natural Park (in the Game “Discovering the Chameleon”), by Águas do Algarve (with several educational games about water) and FAGAR (which will present a “Sustainable Journey – Giant Board Game” and will launch, as we have already mentioned, the new Farrobinhas adventure).

Sport will be another of the themes of these celebrations, particularly with the suggestions brought by São Pedro Futsal Clube de Faro (a Futsal Tournament) and by AXAL – Academia de Chess do Algarve (a Chess Game). In the space, two inflatables, a minigolf, a children's playground and a Silence Party.
