UAlg Higher School of Health has new equipment

Director of ESSUAlg highlighted the importance of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the acquisition of this equipment

The Higher School of Health of the University of Algarve (ESSUAlg) opened a nursing laboratory, a clinical office and two imaging laboratories.

These new infrastructures «will allow us to improve pedagogical practices in teaching and offer adequate preparation for the reality of the clinical context», says the University of Algarve (UAlg).

For Luís Pedro Ribeiro, director of ESSUAlg, this inauguration, merely symbolic, aims to mark the acquisition of a set of equipment and simulators, which will improve pedagogical practices in Nursing teaching.

«In this way, it will be possible for students to practice Nursing acts in a simulation context, preparing them for the reality of the work context»

The same happens with the Imaging laboratories because «they will enable students to practice effectively in the laboratory, which will provide them with adequate preparation for the reality of the clinical context, with considerable gains in learning».

It is also expected that they could be used to provide services to the community.

The director of ESSUAlg also highlighted the importance of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the acquisition of this equipment, ensuring that «without this financing this would not have been possible in the short or medium term, due to the amounts financed, as the School's budget does not includes this type of acquisitions, covering only current expenses».
