Water consumption in Lagoa in the first half of May decreases by 1% compared to 32

Local authority says that this reduction in consumption has been recurring, «week after week»

Water consumption in Lagoa fell by 32% in the first days of May, compared to the same period in 2023, announced the Lagoa Chamber, which emphasizes that this reduction is “higher than the percentage imposed” by the Government.

According to the Chamber of Lagoa, the municipality “has been presenting, week after week, water consumption reduction values that reach twice the reduction required by law, demonstrating all the commitment of the Municipality of Lagoa, hoteliers, business owners , farmers and people from Lagos, in general».

«The values presented by the Águas do Algarve Group (ADA), through Working Group III, have demonstrated that the Municipality of Lagoa has been one of the municipalities that has reduced water consumption the most, compared to the year 2023», adds the municipality .

Even so, the greatest percentage of reduction in water consumption in the municipality «has almost always occurred in the first 15 days of each month, increasing consumption considerably in the following 15 days».

Despite the results achieved in the first months of the year, «all the efforts of the population, in general, and all farmers, hoteliers and businesspeople in the municipality», the Chamber considers it necessary to «continue to comply with the restrictions imposed» by the Government .
