Students from the Rio Arade School Group visit Czechia in an eTwinning/Erasmus+ project

The group's trip to Czechia, financed by the Erasmus+ program, was the culmination of this international cooperation between two schools

Students from the 8th BE class, from Escola Básica Professor João Cónim, from the Rio Arade School Group, in Lagoa, visited, between the 12th and 16th of May, the Základní Skola Magic Hill, in Ricany, Czechia, as part of the project eTwinning/Eramus+ “Happy students learn more”.

The project developed throughout the current academic year, during which students and teachers from both schools had the opportunity to collaborate remotely in carrying out educational activities promoting well-being and environmental education, using the eTwinning platform.

The group's trip to Czechia, financed by the Erasmus+ program, was the culmination of this international cooperation between the two schools.

During the five days of mobility, the students carried out various activities with their Czech colleagues, related to environmental education and sustainability, some in a school context and others in the local community.

Activities included a hike to a wild orchid reserve, a visit to a geological park, tasks related to sustainable agriculture on the school farm, as well as a tour guided by the Czech partners in the city of Prague.

During these days, students reinforced their learning about the environment, reflecting on the environmental impact of human action.

The visit by the group of students was part of the application made by the Rio Arade School Group for Erasmus+ accreditation, which allows, until 2027, the carrying out of mobility projects for teachers, technicians and students.

«The advantages of student participation in Erasmus+ mobilities are diverse, particularly in terms of promoting self-knowledge, autonomy, expansion of horizons and curricular and learning enrichment», highlights the Group.

The students were accompanied by the group director Eunice Reis, teacher Cristina Jesus and social educator Filipa Ferreira.
