The Albufeira Seafest, which on the 4th, 5th and 6th of April, filled Praça and Praia dos Pescadores with thousands of people, was “a success”, according to the municipality.
The event, which is already one of the biggest attractions of the Easter holidays in Albufeira, and which took place for the third consecutive year, offered a variety of educational, cultural and sporting activities and guaranteed moments of joy and excitement for all visitors.
«Albufeira Seafest was once again a success, demonstrating the Executive's commitment to promoting the most
new talents in the municipality", stated the president of the Chamber José Carlos Rolo, arguing that "this is a
initiative that, in addition, attracts countless visitors to Albufeira, promoting economic development and
local commerce, carries the good name of Albufeira across borders».
«This is, without a doubt, one of the most relevant moments in the municipality's cultural program and aims to bring together Albufeira families, as well as providing unforgettable moments for young people from Albufeira», he highlighted.
Sport was one of the main highlights of the event, with radical demonstrations, Cash 4 Tricks Skate, Inline and Scooter competitions and open classes in yoga, aerobics, surfing and balance board.
Dancing was also part of the party with performances by Rancho Folclórica dos Olhos de Água and Associação de Dança Soul.
Along with sport and associations, music was also a protagonist. Over the three days of “Albufeira
Seafest” there were 13 concerts, entirely free, of completely different musical styles: Expensive Soul, Hybrid Theory and GNR, Daniel Vargas, Carlos Braga, Pachá or No Time To Waste.
Cristiano Cabrita, vice-president of Albufeira City Council and councilor responsible for Sports
and Youth, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the organization of the event.
«Since this is a moment that aims to promote the talent of young local artists and athletes, thus reiterating the Municipality's commitment to supporting the municipality's youth, at a time of year when Albufeira already receives thousands of tourists», he says.
The “Albufeira Seafest” is organized by the Municipality of Albufeira with the Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água.
