“Colors and shapes of our artists” celebrates 50 years of the 25th of April in Albufeira

Participation is open to all artists born or resident in the municipality of Albufeira

The “Colors and Shapes of Our Artists” competition, which aims to «promote and value local talents», is back in Albufeira, this year with a theme that aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April. 

“Tell me about APRIL” invites participants to artistically express the memory of the 1974 revolution and reflect on democratic values, freedom, equality and diversity.

Participation is open to all artists born or resident in the municipality of Albufeira, who must present a work at the João Bailote Municipal Gallery, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:00 pm to 16:30 pm between the 19th and 21st of June.

Those interested in participating must submit their registration, together with the Curriculum Vitae/Artistic, Photograph of the work in color, Descriptive synopsis of the work in the context of the proposed theme (up to 150 characters) and Document proving birth or residence in the municipality of Albufeira.

The works selected by the jury will be exhibited at the Municipal Gallery, from August 9th to September 21st. The three
The best works will be distinguished with monetary prizes worth 750 euros (1st prize), 500 euros (2nd prize) and 250 euros (3rd prize), and the jury may also decide to award honorable mentions to some participants.

According to the municipality, it is also planned to award a Participation Prize, worth 300 euros, for the works/authors selected in the competition.

The selected works will remain the property of Albufeira City Council.
