“A Barraca” brings Mary to Mary at the Lethes Theater

Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797), a pioneer of feminist thought, at a time when the very idea of ​​equality was unacceptable, found herself seriously ill after giving birth, suffering from acute puerperal fever. In the delirium of fever, she believes she is giving a conference.

His only audience is his newborn daughter who would become the acclaimed writer Mary Shelley, author of one of the classics of world literature: Frankenstein.

Rita Lello has a degree in translation and studied theater at the Institut Franco Portugais. She made her theater debut in 1994 at Cornucópia with Shakespeare's play “The Winter's Tale”.

For his childhood, he wrote and performed “The Princess of Salt”, a free adaptation of “King Lear”, by Shakespeare. She also staged and adapted for children the text “O Conto da Ilha Desconhecida” by José Saramago and “O Romance da Raposa”, by Aquilino Ribeiro in the theater group “A Barraca”. She has developed work in the area of ​​theater training for children and young people.

On television he has played several roles since 1985 (the year he debuted with “Só Happen Aos Others”), the most notable of which were “Bastidores”, “Querido Professor”, “Lusitana Paixão”, “Santos da Casa”, “Os Serranos” , “A Escada”, “Ilha dos Amores”, “Vila Faia” and the series “Liberdade 21” with which she was nominated in the Best Actress category at the Monte Carlo International Festival.
