Loulé and Quarteira will have areas with restricted access to cars

The work that allowed the implementation of the system has already been completed.

Loulé and Quarteira will have restricted car access areas. The objective is to improve the “quality of life of the resident population and tourists”. 

Loulé City Council is already implementing a control system for car access in the Historic Area of ​​the city of Loulé and in some areas of the city of Quarteira, with a view to reducing and regulating the circulation of vehicles on these arteries.

The work that allowed the implementation of the system has already been completed.

In the future, the following areas will become restricted car access areas in Loulé: Rua D. Paio P. Correia, Rua das Bicas, Rua 9 de Abril, Calçada Horta del Rei, Rua Dr. Joaquim Nunes Saraiva, Travessa do Mercado, Travessa Nossa Senhora do Pilar and Republic Square.

In Quarteira, the areas will be: Rua Portas do Mar, Rua da Mata, Rua da Praia, Travessa do Leste, Rua dos Peões, Rua Vasco da Gama and Rua Manuel Pontes da Horta.

The access control system will come into force after discussion and approval of the regulation that will determine the rules, days and times of access to the mentioned areas.
