AMAL Purchasing Center allowed municipalities to save 1,6 million

Purchasing Center completes 14 years of activity this year

AMAL's Purchasing Center has already allowed Algarve municipalities, over the last four years, to save around 1,6 million, according to an estimate from this Intermunicipal Community revealed this Friday, March 22nd.

A pioneer in boosting structures that centralize purchasing skills, the Purchasing Center completes 14 years of activity this year.

The AMAL Purchasing Center (CC-AMAL) has allowed municipalities, parish councils and municipal companies in the Algarve to have access to various services, which result in procedural and financial benefits.

«Among the various solutions provided by CC-AMAL, which facilitate the activities of local authorities, are processes related to framework agreements, centralized negotiations and tools to support the pre-contractual process», explains AMAL.

Last year, AMAL's Purchasing Center continued to have as its main activity the conclusion of framework agreements for goods or services, through which the basic conditions for the supply of goods or provision of services are established.

Specifically, “maximum prices, award criteria and technical requirements to be taken into account in contracts between selected suppliers and participating entities”.

Currently, the following framework agreements are in force: Road fuels; Water meters and flowmeters and telemetry systems; School meals; Operational rental of Electric and hybrid vehicles; Electricity on a free market basis and Paper for photocopying and printing.

Framework agreements related to: Small projects are already in the drafting phase; Provision of services and supply of hygiene and cleaning consumables and Surveillance and security services.
