The XL Games video game event takes place from Friday, March 1st, to Sunday, the 3rd, at Portimão Arena.
With doors open from 10am to 00pm and free entry, visitors will be able to take an immersive journey into the universe of video games, from the beginnings to the main innovations, without forgetting a preview of what the future holds for the industry.
The event will feature a diversity of experiences that demonstrate the opening of creative and entertainment frontiers that video games have provided to all age groups, with emphasis on areas of virtual reality, Esports and the most recent technical developments in video games.
for the lovers of sports, XL Games events return in this edition to be the stage for major electronic sports competitions, allowing visitors to compete against each other in the most varied tournaments (Counter Strike, EA FC 24, Fortnite, Rocket League, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, among others) , being able to win attractive prizes.
Students in the 2nd and 3rd Cycles of Basic Education and those in Secondary Education, video game enthusiasts looking to learn more about specialization in the field of digital games and respective tools for developing professional skills in the job market, have a program with specific actions, through the XL Games Educational Service, designed with the aim of contributing to this industry, intervening and assisting in the discovery and vocational guidance of students who visit the Portimão Arena.
By the way, and under the theme “Video game design: (almost) everything you need to know!”, two sessions will be held on the first day of the event, scheduled for 11am and 00pm and especially aimed at students, in a action of the Higher School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve.
Organized by E2Tech in partnership with Portimão City Council, the XL Games are sponsored by MEO, Monster, Banzai Noodles, ESC Online, with media partners being Cidade FM and the television channel RTP Arena, which will broadcast the professional competitions live .
On March 1st, the opening date of March Jovem 2024, there will be a special moment, marked by the performances of Ricfazeres, Daizer and TBC.
