Lagos launches its Municipal Child Vaccination Support Program

Children and young people aged 0 to 17 (inclusive) are covered

The Chamber of Lagos will reimburse 100% for all vaccines prescribed within the scope of the National Health Service (SNS), which are not included in the National Vaccination Plan, to be administered to children and young people aged 0 to 17 (inclusive) belonging to households residing in the municipality.

The measure, which will be implemented this year for the first time, was taken after the recent drafting and approval of the Municipal Regulation for Support for Childhood Vaccination, which reinforced the range of support provided by the Lacobrigense municipality in the field of health. Also, last week, the vaccines and age groups to be supported in this first year of implementation of the measure.

Interested parties can now request access to this support, with retroactive effect to January 11th (date of entry into force of the Regulation), by completing and presenting the application that is available on Online Services platform, duly accompanied by the necessary documentation.

The Municipal Child Vaccination Support Program aims to promote universal access for the resident population to vaccination whose administration, despite not being covered by the National Vaccination Plan, is considered advantageous for preventing diseases that affect this age group.

The new Municipal Regulation to Support Child Vaccination provided legal support so that the municipality could assume this new financial responsibility.
