Registration can be made until March 10th

The Municipality of Faro and Turismo de Portugal, through the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA), will promote, on the 12th and 22nd of March, the training “Nautical Tourism Assistant” (25h), included in the “Training + Next” program .

This is a free initiative that aims to «promote and contribute to the qualification of those who work in the tourism sector (or intend to do so)».

To participate, mandatory prior registration is required, which must be done by March 10th, with a mixed online and in-person model (b-learning): the Tourism modules (9h), Communication and Interpersonal Relationships (5h), Service (3h) will be taught online and the Nautical Notions module (8h) will be in person.

«This course is another way found by these institutions, to provide participants with skills that contribute to enriching the offer of services provided in the context of Maritime Tourism», emphasizes the Municipality of Faro in a note, explaining that the municipality is the coordinating entity of the Nautical Station of Faro
and Nautical Tourism is, for this institution, «one of the most relevant products for affirming the territory as an attractive destination for lovers of this practice».

«The connection to the Ria Formosa is the biggest factor of interest and differentiation in relation to other destinations and, in this field, the Nautical Station of Faro is a hub for leisure experiences, water sports (surfing,
stand up paddle, canoeing, diving, windsurfing, sailing, kitesurfing, among others), along with support services for visitors and crews, who find what they need for a unique visit to the city», he continues.

«Nautical Tourism is considered an expanding sector due to the high potential of our country in relation to natural conditions and is seen as a complement to other tourist products, allowing the capture of a qualified market and, therefore, it is important to constantly invest in training of those involved in tourist activity", the Municipality also states.
