Faro: Construction of the new Afonso III Basic School is about to start

The project will cost around 3,1 million euros

The construction work on the new Afonso III Basic School, in Faro, is about to start, after the consignment act was signed last week.

The contract, which received approval from the Court of Auditors, was awarded by the Municipality of Faro to Sociedade Anteros – Empreitadas, Sociedade de Construções e Obras Públicas, SA, for around 3,1 million euros and has an execution period of 450 days.

This new school building for basic education and kindergarten, which will have a total of eight rooms for the first cycle and three rooms for pre-school, will be built on the premises of Escola EB 2, 3 Afonso III, operating autonomously and intended for the development of educational activities for an age range between 3 and 10 years old.

In addition to the construction of classrooms for these levels of education, spaces such as a library and a multipurpose room will also be built, which, given their versatility of uses, will allow and provide interaction between the school community and students' families in some school activities.
