Portimão started to accept payment for charged parking in the city through app EasyPark, «the parking management application with the largest coverage in the world», announced Portipark, which manages parking in this municipality.
With this application, drivers can start and stop the parking period, but also extend it via their cell phone or their vehicle's on-board screen.
The application is available for download via Google Play (Android) and the Apple Store.
«In addition to the EasyPark APP, users continue to have available the usual parking meters, and other applications available for Android and iOS systems, namely VIA VERDE, iParque or TELPARK, to pay for parking in Portimão, and for this purpose they must download and install the respective application”, adds the same entity.
Portipark also recalled that «all residents who have their tax residence in the municipality can enjoy 60 free minutes a day, between 00:00 and 24:00, subject to the availability of seats, with this benefit only applying to natural persons».
«The allocated minutes, if not used, expire at the end of each day and cannot be accumulated. After using the daily total, the tariff value for the artery where it is parked is applied.
Only vehicles that residents own, rent or purchase with reservation of title and whose address on the title deed coincides with the resident's tax residence will be considered».
To be able to take advantage of this benefit, residents must use the iParque Mobile mobile application, where they must upload their vehicle registration plates, and register with PORTIPARK at the service desk, located at Rua José António Marques, nº 17, in Portimão or through the online form available here, attaching a copy of the tax residence certificate and the single vehicle document.
Residents can request a “Resident Card” which allows them to park on the streets in the holder's area of residence, in existing taxed spaces, without having to pay a parking fee and without a time limit. The documentation to be presented can be consulted on the Portipark website.
