Consumer confidence continues to rise and economic climate declines in February

Results are from Business and Consumer Situational Surveys

The consumer confidence indicator continued to increase in February, while the economic climate indicator decreased, interrupting the upward trajectory of the previous three months, the National Statistics Institute (INE) announced today.

According to the results of the Business and Consumer Surveys, the consumer confidence indicator increased between December and February, after having decreased in the previous four months.

The economic climate indicator, based on business surveys, decreased in February, after increasing between November and January.

In the month under review, the services confidence indicator declined, while the manufacturing industry, construction and public works and trade indicators increased.

According to INE, the information collection periods took place between 1 and 16 February in the case of consumer surveys and between 1 and 22 February in the case of business surveys.
