Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes hosts 1st Small Composers Gala

Interpretations will be commented by guest conductor Luiza Dedisin

From 15pm on February 00th, Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes will host the 24st Little Composers Gala, in which 1 children aged between 13 and 6 will participate, whose interpretations will be commented by guest conductor Luiza Dedisin.

The gala is promoted by Studio V – Música Livre, created within the scope of private education with the aim of developing its students artistically and creatively, with professor Luís Fonseca as mentor and pedagogical director.

The teacher has a master's degree in the areas of Musical Training and Ensemble Classes and has more than 30 years of teaching experience, having worked at the Conservatories of Portalegre, Elvas, Albufeira (pedagogical director), Escola Básica e Secundária da Bemposta, Escola Básica 2/3 Dom Martinho Castelo Branco and Escola Básica 2/3 Professor José Buísel, all in Portimão, as well as in other private schools in the country.

He has published some works as a composer of traditional Portuguese music and created two associations dedicated to this artistic expression in Alentejo, the “Cantalagoa” from Alagoa, in the municipality of Portalegre, and the “Gáfete a Cantar” from Gáfete, in the municipality of Crato.

In 2022 and 2023, he was awarded by the Chaminé d'Ouro International Children's and Youth Song Festival, in the categories of best youth song and best songs in Portimão, currently dedicating himself exclusively to the 34 students of Studio V, based in this city.

The 13 works at the gala scheduled for February 24th were composed by future composers based on a small melody, later developed, and will be commented on the occasion by Luís Fonseca and conductor Luiza Dedisin.

Starting her musical education at the age of 6 in Moldova, Luiza Dedisin moved to Portugal at the age of 13. She completed her studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, took classes with renowned musicians and was part of the Gulbenkian Choir for five years, singing in the main European venues.

The conductor developed a passion for operatic singing, studying voice at the National Conservatory of Lisbon and later obtained a Master's degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, having already participated in prominent projects, such as the Festa do Avante Opera Gala or the opening of the Akoeticum Cultural Center, in the Netherlands.
