Tests ended yesterday, the 30th

Toprak Razgatlioglu became, in the tests that ended this Tuesday, January 30th, the fastest rider ever at the controls of a Superbike, at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão.

After, on the first day, Nicolò Bulega was the fastest driving the official Ducati Panigale V4R, the second day held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve saw for the first time Toprak Razgatlioglu being first on the time sheet riding the BMW he faces a new challenge in your sporting career.

Around lunch time, 'El Turco' put the SCX compound tire on the rear wheel of his bike and at the end of a short 'stint' he set a lap time of 1m39.255s, four tenths below the official circuit record but still around two tenths of the best record recorded by Álvaro Bautista during tests carried out at the start of the 2023 season.

The best, however, was yet to come.

In his final outing, the former world champion even secured a new record for the circuit (unofficial) by achieving a lap time of 1m39.189s.

Faster than everyone else on the first day Nicolò Bulega once again showed his speed and consistency to finish the tests just 86 thousandths behind Toprak.

Behind him, Alex Lowes was the best of the Kawasaki riders.

With four different brands in the first four positions, Remy Gardner was the best Yamaha rider, being fourth just under four tenths behind the leader, beating Michael van der Mark and Andrea Locatelli.

Among the top ten, note also goes to the two BMWs from Team Bonovo, driven by Scott Redding and Gareth Gerloff, who completed the group of the ten fastest, less than a second behind the speedy Toprak Razgatlioglu, confirming that BMW makes no distinction between the two teams. that it has on the starting grid, with its four drivers having identical equipment to face the new season.

The stroke of five o'clock in the afternoon marked the end of the double round of testing, a day where the MotoGP riders, once again led by Francesco Bagnaia, rode less than on the opening day and which was marked by the crashes of Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Digianantonio , falls that even dictated two red flag situations, as also happened with Danilo Petrucci, the eighth fastest at the end of the preparation for his second year in the SBK World Championship.
