Circulation reestablished on the Algarve Line after fatal collision

27 year old man is Ukrainian

Railway circulation on the Algarve Line, near Portimão, was reestablished at 9:36 am, after being interrupted at 8:13 a.m. due to a deadly hit-and-run, said a source from the regional Civil Protection.

According to the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the doctor from the emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) declared the death of a 27-year-old man, of Ukrainian nationality, and the body was removed.

The incident mobilized eight vehicles and 20 firefighters from Portimão, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and the PSP, who have already left the scene.
