The start of the celebrations for the 5th anniversary of BIBAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Libraries Network will take place this Thursday, December 7th, with a meeting under the theme “The future in Algarve Libraries”, at the Municipal Library of Faro.

The meeting will be dedicated to analyzing and reflecting on the current situation of libraries in the Algarve Network, with a focus on human resources, and is aimed at all professional members of the BIBAL group.

The creation of the Intermunicipal Network of Algarve Libraries was formalized in 2018, with the signing of a protocol between the Intermunicipal Community of Algarve/AMAL, which integrates the 16 municipalities in the region, the University of Algarve and the General Directorate of Books, of Archives and Libraries.

«This project has allowed greater dynamics for all Algarve libraries which, through collaborative and network work, have provided better and more services to the communities they serve, seeking to position Algarve Libraries as partner institutions in the development and support of populations local communities, responding to their information, culture and leisure needs», says AMAL – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Algarve.

BIBAL's 5th Anniversary celebrations will extend throughout next year, with several initiatives, open to the community, that will take place in the various Municipal Libraries in the Algarve.
