The PSD visited the Porches Social Support Center as part of the second stage of the “Sentir Lagoa” program.
Mário Vieira, president of the Lagoa municipality of the PSD and councilor of the Lagoa Chamber, and Ana Rita Boto, elected member of the Porches Parish Assembly, met with the management of the Porches Social Support Center to talk about social support for the population in aspects of support for children and the elderly.
According to the party, these visits aim to «strengthen the proximity with agents who work in the field on the social and sporting side» and «understand the support they need and what projects they have for the future».
From this visit, the PSD highlights the desire to continue developing projects to increase the offer in terms of support for children and the senior community.
Furthermore, the party highlights the project, already prepared to begin as soon as financing is available, for the construction of the building from scratch to install the Day Center and Home for the Elderly, «which will allow the existing offer in the Home area to be increased for more 60 places, increasing from the current 20 to 80, as well as more day center places” and “completely converting the current building to support children, also increasing the response capacity in these areas”.
