The presidents of the District Federations of PS, including PS Algarve, say they have «complete confidence in the honesty of the PS general secretary, António Costa» in a political position joint agreement assumed following the António Costa's resignation, announced this Tuesday, November 7th.
In a statement, the federative structures of the Socialist Party, which define the resigning prime minister as “a bulwark of the dignity and honesty that we have always experienced”.
Furthermore, they reinforce the «gratitude and admiration for the extraordinary work carried out in always difficult times, from the post-Troika recovery, to facing the pandemic, the international crisis and the new challenges of war» and «the manifestation of the excellent government legacy, in the national and European context, allowing the country to assert itself internationally and the Portuguese to demonstrate electoral confidence».
The presidents of the District Federations of PS also reinforce the «recognition of the extraordinary dignity of his decision, not being accused or accused, but assuming the moment and its consequences with a high sense of State and personal and political dignity" and the "expectation in the clarification of this entire process of analysis, which leads to objectifying , in a clear and consistent way, all the reasons for the diligence and actions taken by justice».
