Lagoa will host the V Edition of the Algarve Box Cup, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of December, between 10am and 00pm.
This international event for elite (senior) female and male boxers, which takes place at the Pavilhão Desportivo Jacinto Correia, already has more than 100 registrants, from 14 countries, including the national teams of Norway, Italy, Cape Verde and Switzerland .
The event is included in the competitive calendar of the Algarve Boxing Association as the maximum event held in the region and classified as unique at national level, as it is exclusive to elite athletes, with a monetary prize totaling 10 thousand euros.
Sandra Silva, responsible for the event's organizing committee, says that «the last edition of the Algarve Box Cup obtained Feedback so positive, which made this event one of the most attractive International Tournaments on the European scene».
«We are very excited as we know that the Algarve Box Cup 2023 will be an unforgettable spectacle for all participants and lovers of Boxing and sport. Lagoa is an incredible host city, as in addition to its natural beauty we managed to involve the entire community in organizing and promoting this Tournament. This event falls within the III Axis of the municipal sports development strategy, “Lagoa Acolhe Grandes Eventos”, which, according to the municipality, aims to stimulate the local economy, throughout the year, through sporting events, and which It also promotes sports and healthy lifestyles.
