GNR: 78 detained last week in the Algarve

78 people were arrested in the week of 6 to 12 November, following GNR actions in different locations in the Algarve, which allowed them to seize, among other materials, drugs and avocados.

Regarding arrests, the GNR highlights 28 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 21 for driving without a legal license and three for drug trafficking.

In the operations carried out, 134 kilos of avocado, 43 doses of hashish and three knives were seized.

The GNR detected 528 traffic violations, including 110 for speeding, 52 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 37 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 18 for lack of civil liability insurance, nine for use of a cell phone while driving and eight due to lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system.

Over the last week, 120 accidents were recorded in the Algarve, resulting in three deaths, five serious injuries and 16 minor injuries.
