Faro promotes more free training for tourism workers

In the months of November and December

Tourism workers will have access to a new cycle of three training courses, free of charge, in the months of November and December, promoted by the Municipality of Faro and Turismo de Portugal through the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School.

As part of the “Training + Next” program, another cycle of three new training courses will begin this month, on the 13th and 14th of November, to be held until December, on topics such as “Accessible Tourism”, “Flooring: Organizations and Service” and “Service and Excellence”.

The program, which began in 2022 with a partnership agreement, within the scope of the “Reactivate Tourism – Build the Future” Plan, aims to “expand and deepen the training of employees in the sector (entrepreneurs, managers, intermediate and operational staff)”.

The training actions, designed according to the results of a survey to diagnose the needs of workers in various services, such as hotels, local accommodation, tourist entertainment and restaurants, located in the Municipality of Faro, have content «adapted to the future needs of the sector and the diversity of tourism companies in Faro», says the municipality.

The “Accessible Tourism” training is scheduled for the 13th and 14th of November, between 14:00 pm and 17:00 pm, while the action dedicated to “Floors: Organization and Service” will take place on the 20th, 22nd and 24th of November, between 14:30 pm and 17:30 pm, and the action on “Service and Excellence” on the 27th and 28th of November and the 4th and 5th of December, also between 14:30 pm and 17:30 pm.

All training is free and will take place at the Municipal Neighborhood Office, at Rua José Rosário, nº56, in Faro, requiring mandatory registration.
