The theme “SNS in the Algarve – What Challenges?” will be discussed in a public debate that the District Coordinating Committee of the Bloco de Esquerda do Algarve will organize on Saturday, November 18th, at 14:30 pm, at the Teatro Municipal de Portimão (TEMPO).

«The SNS was one of the greatest achievements of the April Revolution and continues to be one of the central pillars of our social state. As a result of the different governments we have had, both from the right and from the PS, the SNS has suffered different attacks and its marked degradation is visible to everyone at national level», says BE.

One of the regions where these problems are most felt is in the Algarve, «particularly at hospital level».

«From the lack of doctors and other health professionals, lack of regulation of careers and working conditions, loss of suitability and closure of services, endless hours of waiting in emergency rooms, months and even years waiting for an appointment or surgery, thousands of users remain without family doctors, mental health problems continue to be unresolved, inoperative and incompetent administrations, promised investments that are slow to see the light of day and even the much-desired Central Hospital that for years it's nothing more than paper", say the blockers, considering that the situation was "aggravated by the absolute majority of António Costa's Government".

All these issues will be addressed in Saturday's session, they guarantee.
