The Almargem Association today released a note of «profound sadness and regret» over the death of Nelly Henrique de Brito, partner and former member of the association's social bodies, victim of a prolonged illness.
With a degree in Law, she was an active member of Almargem's management for more than 10 years, «at a particularly difficult time for the association».
«Known for her pragmatism, but also for her intelligence and resilience», Nelly Henrique de Brito stood out as «a leader of great merit, gaining recognition from her peers, but also as a partner, for her activism and commitment to life and activity of the association", adds Almargem.
In recent years, Nelly Henrique de Brito «dedicated herself with her heart and soul to one of her greatest passions, horses, developing an equestrian tourism project that combined an interesting social component, and which contributed in a notable way to the dynamization of the Riverside Park Faro».
«Unfortunately, his last and final journey would have to take place painfully, unfairly and too soon», says the Algarve environmental association.
The Almargem Association states that it «deeply regrets the premature disappearance of Dr. Nelly Henrique de Brito, paying here a final tribute to the leader, her partner and her friend, and now offering the most sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family and friends».
Nelly Henrique de Brito's wake will take place this Saturday, November 11th, from 9:30 am, at the Church of S. Francisco, in Loulé, from where the funeral procession will leave an hour later, heading to the city's Cemetery.
