Tavira City Council will provide free transport for all students in the municipality, an investment of around 800 thousand euros that covers 937 students from pre-school to the 12th year of schooling.
Transport is guaranteed by 15 municipal vehicles and public routes for the services “Asbe e Desce (urban core), “Vamus” (inside and outside the urban core) and train.
«If the educational establishment serves students from several municipalities, the provision of this service is at an intermunicipal level», according to the Tavira Chamber.
The municipality also guarantees the transport of students with special educational needs through a contract established with a specialized company.
