Graduates from UAlg are well inserted in the job market

Graduates from the University of Algarve (UAlg) have a good insertion in the job market, with only 2,9% unemployed, according to data from the latest report. 

The survey applied to graduates from the 2020/2021 academic year had a response rate (71,1%), which allows us to consider that the results are solid and representative of reality.

In relation to the previous report, there was a drop of 1,2 percentage points in the percentage of graduates without a job.

The majority of graduates indicate that the training they received is in accordance with the functions they perform, which shows that employment is mainly in the training area, which has been verified in previous reports.

Of the respondents who did not continue their studies, 20,6% were already working when they finished the course, 56,3% were working within three months of completing the course and 9,2% within 1 year.

In terms of employment conditions, it is clear that open-ended employment contracts predominate (36,0%), followed by fixed-term employment contracts with 32,0%. The main employers are private companies (70,1%), large (33,6%) and the majority of graduates reside and work in the Algarve region (64,3%).

Finally, it should be noted that 26,4% of graduates decided to further their studies and continued their training, with 55,8% attending the University of Algarve, mostly in 2nd cycle courses.
