22 arrested and 126 accidents recorded last week in the Algarve

In traffic, 426 violations were detected

Operations to prevent and combat violent crime and road inspection, which took place between the 2nd and 8th of October, resulted in the arrest of 22 people and the recording of 126 accidents. 

Of the 22 detainees, the GNR highlights 10 for driving without a legal license, eight for driving under the influence of alcohol and three for drug trafficking.

During this period, 542 doses of hashish, 401 doses of cocaine, three scales, seven vehicles and 17 cell phones.

In traffic, 426 infractions were detected, including 159 for speeding, 32 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 19 due to lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system, 13 related to defects in lighting and signaling systems, 12 due to improper use of a cell phone while driving and ten due to lack of civil liability insurance.

Of the 126 accidents, four serious injuries and 17 minor injuries resulted.
