Hospitality Union protests outside the World Tourism Day conference in Albufeira

Conference will be attended by the President of the Republic, in the closing session

The Union of Workers from the Hotel, Tourism, Restaurants and Similar Industry in the Algarve will protest this Wednesday, September 27th, at the door of the conference, promoted by the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal and the Association of Hotels and Tourist Enterprises of the Algarve, within the scope of World Tourism Day, in Albufeira.

Workers' representatives will be at 15pm at the door of the NAU Salgados Palace Hotel.

This conference will also feature the presence of the President of the Republic at the closing session.

«The protest aims, on the one hand, to denounce, in particular, low wages, the generalization of precarious employment contracts for permanent jobs, the deregulation of working hours, the intensification and increase of working hours, the increase in harassment and of psychological torture, limitations or attempts to prevent union activity or the withdrawal of conquered rights and, on the other, demand from employers and the Government a change in their options that allows a fair redistribution of wealth», says the Union.
