Algarve under yellow warning due to rain and thunderstorms

The warning is valid from 6:00 am

Until 18pm this Sunday, September 00rd, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed the Algarve under yellow warning due to rain and thunderstorms. 

The warning is valid from 6:00 am.

According to IPMA, in the district of Faro, «showers, sometimes heavy, and occasionally hail and accompanied by strong gusts».

Added to this are “frequent and scattered” thunderstorms.

Furthermore, the IPMA predicts rain for the entire country this Sunday.

There are 10 districts under yellow warning (Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Faro, Vila Real, Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra and Portalegre).
