The renovation work on Rua das Sesmarias, «which will allow for the widening of this important road», has already started, announced this Friday, 25 August, the Portimão Council.
The objective of these works, which are the responsibility of the Municipality of Portimão, is to definitively solve the road traffic difficulties that exist in the area.
Traffic will be closed until September 12th.
The intervention, which also includes the construction of pedestrian walkways, «is intended to resolve an impasse that has continued over time due to various constraints, with a view to widening the road», says the Portimão Council.
Since there is no other way to solve the current road constraint, and aware of the inconvenience that the interruption of traffic may cause, the municipality appeals to the understanding of motorists, who are recommended to use the alternative detours duly marked on the spot.
