Portimão: 25 years of João de Sena's career shown at EMARP

Until the 8th of September

An exhibition marking the 25th anniversary of the career of the Portimão painter João Sena can be seen from today, Monday, August 7th, at the headquarters of EMARP – Empresa Municipal de Águas e Residuos de Portimão.

The “XXV” exhibition, which will be open until September 8, “brings together a set of paintings where the author gives those who observe the possibility of entering new worlds and scenarios of different stories”, according to the municipal company from Portimonense.

«From an early age, João Sena felt a great interest in different artistic manifestations, in particular painting, having studied various techniques and styles: oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal. In 1997, through the exhibition “Conclusion… none”, he showed his first works to the public », adds EMARP.

His work «denotes a great fascination for Salvador Dalí's surrealism and an obsession with perfecting his own style and technique, eventually discovering the vast fantasy and intensity present in art».

Currently, his artistic creations are part of several private collections in Portugal and abroad.

The exhibition can be visited between 8:30 am and 17:00 pm, in the EMARP public service area.
