Loulé White Night was «a success» and will be back in 2025

Mayor of Loulé makes a positive assessment of the party

The White Night of Loulé, which took place on the 26th of August and brought around 80 people to this Algarve city, was «a success» and will be back in two years.

The guarantee was given to the Sul Informação this Tuesday, August 29, by Vítor Aleixo, mayor of Loulé, who hopes that the next party, scheduled for 2025, «goes even better than this one».

Compared to previous years, the Loulé mayor says that «there shouldn't have been a big difference in the number of visitors», but this time what happened was that «the weather, unfortunately, made people leave the party earlier than than what is usual".

Even so, the balance is very positive. «There was the same joy and party atmosphere, many tourists, people who came from other countries on purpose to participate in the White Night in Loulé. There was also a great impact on the local economy, mainly in restaurants and hotels, in the area of influence of the city», reinforces the mayor.

Vítor Aleixo, however, regrets that the party was also marked by the «tragic disappearance of a GNR soldier who was on duty».

«He was a young man, with a family, a good person and much appreciated by his colleagues. It is always sad to see someone leave who, in the performance of his duties, was working so that everyone could have fun in absolute safety. This is always a note of sadness that I cannot fail to highlight», concluded the president, referring to the GNR corporal Nuno Policarpo.

This White Night featured 30 bands, more than 200 entertainers, almost 20 stages, bold decor and a wide range of restaurants, handicrafts and local products.

Artists such as Dino D'Santiago, Black Mamba, Karetus, Irma, Entre Aspas, Edmundo Inácio, among others, performed on stages throughout the city.

The White Night began to be celebrated in Loulé in 2007.
