Ana Abrunhosa opens the Mediterranean Diet Fair again

The Fair will have more than 200 stands, 7 musical stages and artists from six countries: Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Morocco and Algeria (in this case, a premiere)

Ana Abrunhosa, Minister of Territorial Cohesion, will, for the second consecutive year, inaugurate the Mediterranean Diet Fair, on the 8th of September, at 18pm, in Tavira.

The Fair will have more than 200 stands, 7 musical stages and artists from six countries: Portugal, Italy, Spain, France, Morocco and Algeria (in this case, a premiere).

In addition to the musical part, there will be exhibitors of handicrafts and traditional products, botanical and seed shows, catering, gastronomic demonstrations, exhibitions, guided tours and a seminar, on September 7, on “Innovation in the Mediterranean Diet”, at the Experimentation Center Agrária de Tavira.

As for the musical shows, they start on the 7th, in the space of the old fish market, next to Mercado da Ribeira, with the “Galandum Galundaina”, with the Pauliteiros de Miranda.

On the stage of the Castle, the “Ars Nova Napoli”, from Italy, in the Jardim do Coreto, the “Úlua”, from Spain”, and, in Praça da República, the Portuguese Rui Veloso.

On Friday, the 8th, the auction stage will host the fado singer Carla Pires and Daniel Pereira Cristo, instrumentalist of the cavaquinho. On Palco do Castelo, it will be the turn of “Barrut”, from France, and, in Jardim do Coreto, “Iskaria”, from Italy.

On the main stage – Praça da República – Estrella Morente, one of the main names in Spanish music, will perform.

For Saturday, there is a performance by “Diabo a Sete”, in the auction space, by “Duo Brotto Raibaud” (Spain), in Jardim do Coreto, by “Global Gnawa” (Morocco), in Castelo, and by Camané with Orquestra do Algarve, in Praça da República.

The Fair will end on Sunday, the 10th, with a day dedicated more to youth. The shows will be by Carolina Deslandes (Praça da República), Lemma, from Algeria (Castelo) and “Os Ganhões de Castro Verde” and Pedro Ribeiro with “O Cante não cai do Céu” (Lota).
