EVA and VAMUS workers maintain strike for August 1

In addition to the total stoppage, there will be an overtime strike until 3:00 am on the 7th of August

Workers from EVA and from the company Vizur, the operator of the VAMUS service, maintain the strike announced for the 1st of August, throughout the Algarve.

According to the Union of Road and Urban Transport Workers in Portugal, "due to the fact that the companies' administration" has not "submitted any proposal to this union association, the strike scheduled for the 1st and following days" will continue.

The workers of the two Algarve companies of the Barraqueiro group «demand an increase in the base salary of no less than 100 euros and an end to the theft by EVA Transportes of holiday and vacation allowances».

In addition to the total stoppage, there will be an overtime strike until 3:00 am on August 7th.

«These are the workers who started the fight for better working conditions and wages in 2018 and that led to the resignation of the EVA Group’s Board of Directors, that same year», concludes the union.
