Tamara Alves and Shaka Lion present their digital art in the Peneco Beach Tunnel in Albufeira

Albufeira City Council partnership with Ephemeral / Ethernal and Iminente, structures linked to Vhils

The access tunnel to Praia do Peneco, at the end of Rua 5 de Outubro, in Albufeira, hosts the artistic installation “O Infinito da Noite”, by Tamara Alves and Shaka Lion, from the 2nd to the 20th of August.

The project, resulting from a partnership between the Municipality of Albufeira, Ephemeral / Ethernal and Iminente, brings Art to one of the most iconic places in the city.
Digital, in the form of videomapping, available to visit daily from 20 pm to midnight.

The initiative, which proposes the creation of an immersive artistic installation, using videomapping projections on the walls of the access tunnel to Praia do Peneco, was developed exclusively for the location.

At the same time, on the nights of the 2nd and 18th of August, Shaka Lion promises to liven up the Túnel terrace with a DJ Set by the Luso-Brazilian musical artist Shaka Lion, starting at 22 pm. The event is free entry.

The concerts, full of good vibes, of various musical styles such as reggae, dub, jazz and hip-hop, result in an experience that concentrates art, music and culture in a single space, in a perfect symbiosis.

The initiative, which proposes the creation of an immersive artistic installation, using videomapping projections on the walls of the access tunnel to Praia do Peneco, was developed exclusively for the location.

“Activating and diversifying the cultural offer of the city, creating a context for visitors to interact with art, in a unique, multisensory and immersive format, leveraging a high moment of tourism in the region and fostering the search for the municipality’s historical and cultural symbols is, It is also a way of promoting Albufeira and renewing the city's points of interest”, underlines José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira.

Tamara Alves is a visual artist and illustrator of recognized national merit for her language inspired by urban aesthetics in her drawing, painting and ceramic works.

The event stems from the partnership with Ephemeral / Ethernal, a platform with a special focus on exploring the intersection of physical and digital art, and Iminente, an initiative that works with emerging and established artists in the field of urban cultures, both linked to the artist. Alexandre Farto aka Vhils, who is developing another project for Albufeira.
