Sardinha is once again the queen of the beach party in Olhos de Água

from 10th to 12th of August

Lots of music, animation and, of course, the traditional grilled sardines are the main ingredients of another Sardine Festival in Olhos de Água, which will take place in Largo dos Pescadores, next to the beach, between the 10th and 12th of August.

For three days, freshly baked sardines, dripping onto the bread as tradition dictates, will be the queen of the festivities, accompanied by lots of traditional Portuguese music.

The enclosure will open for three days between 20:00 and 01:00, offering visitors the chance to taste one of the most traditional summer delicacies in the Algarve.

To accompany the repast, local artists will take the stage. Thus, on the 10th, Thursday, there is a dance with Duo 64. On the following day, the 11th of August, it will be Valter Cabrita providing music, followed by the José Praia Group.

Closing the event, on Saturday, August 12th, the dance will be performed by Nuno Balbino, with a performance by the Folkloric Ranch of Olhos de Água also scheduled.

The Olhos de Água Sardine Festival, which is free to enter, has been a growing success year after year, drawing people and tourists alike to this picturesque fishing area in the municipality of Albufeira. The Parish Council of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, which organizes it, expects «a flood for this tribute to the queen of the Portuguese sea».

In addition to the parish, the event is organized by the Municipality of Albufeira and the Sports and Recreational Group Olhos de Água, with the support of several local companies.
