New governing bodies of the Rotary Club of Loulé have already taken office

A top priority this Rotary year will be support for mental health, under the motto “Create Hope in the World”

The new governing bodies for the year 2023/2024 of the Rotary Clube de Loulé took office on the 3rd of July. 

The ceremony took place in the Aquashow Hotel room, with the presence of 11 clubs from the 1960 District, with 60 participants, and the Governors of the 1960 Rotary District, Vitor Cordeiro (22/23) and David Valente (23/24).

Silvério António da Silva Gonçalves Guerreiro, new president of the Rotary Club of Loulé, announced in his speech that the main priority of this Rotary year will be to support mental health, under the motto “Create Hope in the World”.

For this purpose, a Solidarity Golf Tournament will be held on the 15th of July, in support of UNIR – Association of the Mentally Ill, Families and Friends of the Algarve.

A Solidarity Gala is also scheduled for the 18th of November, in favor of ASMAL – Mental Health Association of the Algarve.

The club registered at this event the entry of six new teammates, now having a membership of 22 members.

Upon completing her duties, Maria Helena Baptista referred to the activities carried out over the previous Rotary year, in support of the community of Loulé, highlighting the institutional partnerships that were represented at the highest level, namely the mayor of Loulé Vitor Aleixo, and President Telmo Pinto, of the Parish Council of Quarteira, Carlos Filipe, of the Council of São Clemente, Analídio da Ponte, of São Sebastião, and Francisco André, of Salir.

The Loulé mayor congratulated the Loulé club teammates in the person of their presidents, and made himself available to continue to materialize the partnership between both institutions, in activities to support communities.
