Musical nights are back in the Garden of Montechoro

During the months of July, August and September

The Municipality of Albufeira once again presents the program “Nights in the Garden”, during the months of July, August and September, in Jardim de Montechoro, with a cycle of six free concerts with artists from the region.

César Matoso debuts on the stage of this year's edition, on the 29th of July. The Algarve fado singer presents his most recent work, “Jardim”. «This album is a mixture of emotions and environments, which goes through love ballads, traditional fado and light and danceable themes”, as the artist refers.

On the 5th of August, the Nebuchadnezzar Group will be present at the event. The contemporary music collective linked to Jazz presents a repertoire with a diverse musical aesthetic.

Ray & Ventura step onto the stage of “Nights in the Garden” on Friday, August 11th. The duo of musicians made up of Ray Van D, on vocals and guitar, and João Ventura, on drums, revisit the greatest hits of international rock and pop music, giving an acoustic and minimalist look to well-known themes.

Filipa Sousa, from Albufeira, who represented Portugal in Azerbaijan in 2012, after having won the 48th edition of the Festival da Canção, will perform on the 19th of August and will present the new album “Acreditar”.

On the 26th of August, João Frade and João Silva take the stage to show their most recent project “Lugares”. Released in 2021, «the album is the intersection of traditional music with classical music, using unique and not very obvious sounds», as described by João Frade.

The program ends with a concert by the AL Guitar Duo Quartet. The musical project, created in 2008 by guitarists André Ramos and Luís Fialho, brings to Jardim de Montechoro a performance with a repertoire that mixes Latin sounds with fado, flamenco and jazz.

The show is scheduled for the 9th of September and revolves around original themes and those of other authors, but with their own arrangements, also counting on the participation of Emanuel Marçal on the accordion and Rosa Escobar on the viola.´

All concerts start at 21:30.
